Pratt & Whitney Canada Introduces Helicopter Maintenance Kits

Pratt & Whitney Canada introduced a “first-aid kit” for helicopter maintenance in order to speed up aircraft availability and maintenance for customers.

The Remote Maintenance Kit, available to customers enrolled in Pratt & Whitney’s Eagle Service Plan, contains selected parts and tooling for helicopter engine maintenance. Customers using PT6C-67C, PW207C, PW206C, PW206B2/B3, and PW207D1/D2 engines can find the maintenance tool they need in the package.

The compact and light-weight case provides specialized cables, an ignition exciter and Stabilant 22, borescope guide tools to perform engine diagnostic tests, spare parts such as fuel and oil filter elements, retaining rings, and seals

“Similar to a first-aid kit, the Remote Maintenance Kit is kept at the customer’s premises or maintenance facility and used on an ‘as-needed’ basis to ensure operational readiness,” said Christopher (Scott) McElvaine, vice president, Business Development & Commercial Services, Pratt & Whitney Canada.

The company, a business unit of Pratt & Whitney, unveiled the maintenance kits concept on business jet engines before applying it to helicopters.
