WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — A Georgia State Patrol helicopter pilot helped reunite a missing 4-year-old with his family after they got separated in the woods.
The Georgia State Patrol Troop E received a call about the boy missing and alerted the GSP Aviation unit.

Pilot CPL David Staniszewski started to search the area near two ponds and a creek, but it was hard to see anything.
So, the pilot landed in a field, took the doors off in order for better visibility.

Staniszewki expanded the search area and five minutes later, he spotted the boy .25 miles away from where he disappeared. He stayed over the area until EMS could get to the scene.
“Ground units did a great job of getting to the location quickly, and the boy was picked up and carried back to the road where EMS and his family were waiting,” GSP said.
