An Indian Air Force helicopter on Wednesday made an emergency landing at Manikpur village in Bihar’s Buxar district.

IAF Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing in Bihar's Buxar, All Onboard Safe

Buxar: An Indian Air Force helicopter on Wednesday made an emergency landing at Manikpur village in Bihar’s Buxar district. According to reports, IAF’s heavy-lift, tandem rotor helicopter the CH-47F (I) Chinook suffered a technical snag while on a training sortie, causing it to make an emergency landing. All 15 people on board are safe and there were no reports of loss of life.

“The newly inducted helicopter had taken off from Prayagraj and was on way to Bihta airbase near Patna when it had to make an emergency landing,” Buxar district magistrate Aman Samir told Hindustan Times.

The incident happened at about 5:25 PM today evening on the premises of Manikpur High School in Buxar. No major damage to the aircraft has been reported.

Superior officers of the Air Force were informed and police personnel were deployed to guard the chopper till the time IAF personnel flew it back.
