Navy chopper makes emergency landing off Mumbai coast, crew rescued

An advanced light helicopter (ALH) of the Indian Navy made an emergency landing in the Arabian sea off the coast of Mumbai on Wednesday. All three crew members on board were rescued.

An advanced light helicopter (ALH) of the Indian Navy made an emergency landing in the Arabian sea off the coast of Mumbai on Wednesday.

The chopper was on a routine sortie when it was ditched close to the coast, prompting an immediate search and rescue operation, a Navy spokesperson said.

Three crew members on board were rescued safely by a naval patrol craft.

An inquiry to investigate the incident has been ordered.
