Helicopter rolls into bushes, crashes after landing in Myrtle Beach

Fire officials said the helicopter apparently came down in a parking lot off of 17th Avenue South. Four people were aboard at the time.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Local fire officials say there were no serious major injuries following a helicopter crash in Myrtle Beach on Saturday afternoon.

Pictures shared by the Myrtle Beach Fire Department show considerable damage to the aircraft, which is seen laying on its side in what appears to be a parking lot and partially surrounded by debris.

Fire officials said the helicopter apparently came down in a parking lot off of 17th Avenue South. Four people were aboard at the time.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reports that the aircraft, a Robinson R44 helicopter, rolled into bushes after landing in a parking lot near the Myrtle Beach International Airport around 5:15 p.m. 

According to the tail number provided by the FAA, the helicopter is registered to Executive Helicopters Inc. and is based out of Myrtle Beach.
