MABALACAT CITY A pilot was killed while two of his companions were injured in a helicopter crash in Clark Freeport Tuesday morning, August 16.

Captain Disdado Lumanlan, a General Aviation helicopter pilot died in the crash.

Lumanlan's companions in the test flight, aircraft mechanics Ivan Abiong and Rodley Esogon, sustained injuries, reports have it.

Mabalacat City Mayor Cris Garbo asked his constituents to pray for the pilot and the two individuals who were injured during the accident.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victims of this unfortunate incident that happened this morning at the Clark Freeport Zone which led to the death of the pilot, Diosdado Lumanlan, and injured two mechanics Ivan Abiong and Rodley Esogon," the mayor said.

Garbo said based on the spot report prepared by Clark Development Corp - Public Safety Division, a technical repair of 1973 helicopter with model MD369HS is being conducted by Lumanlan with two company mechanics, Abiong and Esogon, for the test flight before the chopper elevated and crashed in the vicinity of Nabcor area West of Clark airport.

The mayor said he instructed the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to respond to the crash site which falls within the jurisdiction of Mabalacat City.

"I offer our deepest condolences to the family of Lumanlan during this difficult time and I send prayers of healing to the two other passengers who were hurt. I call on the Mabalaquenos to pray for the eternal repose of the soul of Lumanlan," Garbo said.
