A military helicopter carrying university entrance exam papers crashed near Hakha airport on March 29, injuring five people, said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Deputy Minister for Information.

"At around 8:50 this morning, a military helicopter flew from Kalay to Hakha to send the university entrance exam papers. We used to send them there before. It arrived in Hakha around 9:20. When it arrived at Hakha Heliport, the wind blew and the helicopter crashed," said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

The military helicopter crashed about 50 or 100 meters from Hakha airport and fell from a height of about 50 feet, said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

"It fell from an altitude of 40 to 50 feet, breaking the tail of the helicopter, and security personnel and some education personnel are on board. Five of them, two soldiers and three civil servants, were slightly injured. They are receiving medical treatment. Their condition is good," said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said that the university entrance exam papers brought by the helicopter were not damaged and the papers were being sent to the relevant authorities. Work was underway to retrieve the crashed helicopter.
