Firefighters were called to a Sherwood home after a person was injured as an in-ground pool was being lowered by a helicopter on Wednesday morning.

According to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the incident happened at a property north of 99W in Sherwood.

Though a 911 call originally reported that a pole had been dropped on the person, it was later confirmed that an employee was pinned on the ground by the pool.

Premier Pools usually installs in-ground pools with cranes and trucks, the company told KATU News on Wednesday. The company said because of logistics, they had to deliver a pool weighing thousands of pounds with a helicopter.

"It clocked him in the ribs, he went down. I think he got the wind knocked out of him," Rick Wolpin said, the VP of sales for the company. "I'm CPR certified, so I just did a little bit of triage on him just to make sure that all the faculties and everything was good and working. Out of caution, we called for an ambulance rather than take any chances."

Team members responded quickly and freed the person who was pinned.

Wolpin says the employee is okay and was being released from the hospital.
